Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes, with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision based on the quality of the wines sold, the importance of brand innovation, and the presentation of its wines. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the objective set at its inception: to be a family‑owned company with an international outlook, focused on producing quality wines, on innovation, and on developing Portuguese brands that reach a global level. Sogrape Vinhos owns about 830 hectares of vineyards in Portugal. Casa Ferreirinha and its wines are synonymous with time and art. This has been true since its foundation in the 18th century, by Bernardo Ferreira, who refined the formula that was later perfected by his descendants, especially his granddaughter Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, who affectionately became known as “Ferreirinha” or “Ferreirinha‑da‑Régua” by the people of her homeland. Under Dona Antónia’s leadership—after being widowed twice and taking the helm of a large enterprise—Ferreira established itself admirably.
