Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes, with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision rooted in the quality of the wines it sells, the importance of brand novelty, and the presentation of its wines. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the objective set at its inception: to be a family‑owned company with an international orientation, focused on producing quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing Portuguese brands of global standing. The company owns approximately 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Casa Ferreirinha and its wines are synonymous with time and art. Since its founding in the eighteenth century by Bernardo Ferreira, the formula was refined by his descendants, especially by his granddaughter Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, affectionately known as “Ferreirinha” or “Ferreirinha‑da‑Régua” by the people of her homeland. Under Dona Antónia’s leadership, who, after being widowed twice, steered a large company, Ferreirinha achieved admirable consolidation. Her entrepreneurial spirit taught her to anticipate, decide, create, teach, and love, making her a figure of great projection and charisma.
