Casal das Aires is a family-owned estate in the Tagus wine region, focused on organic cultivation and premium wines. Joana Pinhão was born in Alpiarça, a land with a long‑standing wine tradition deeply rooted in its people. Naturally, she devoted herself to the world of wine and vineyards, joining several renowned projects such as the enology team at Quinta Vale Dona Maria, while also pursuing her own personal ventures. Seeing the growing recognition of the Tagus region, she decided to turn her dream into reality. In 2015, she converted her vineyards in the Charneca into a site that embraces a wide range of national grape varieties—Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Trincadeira, Bastardo, Bical, Arinto, Fernão Pires, Alvarinho, Loureiro, and Avesso—as well as some international ones like Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Alicante Bouschet. The first wine from this new endeavor, Casal das Aires, was released in 2019.
