Casal das Aires is a family-owned estate in the Tagus wine region, focused on organic cultivation and premium wines. Joana Pinhão was born in Alpiarça, a land with a deeply rooted winemaking tradition among its people. Naturally, she dedicated herself to the world of wine and vineyards, joining several renowned projects such as the enology team at Quinta Vale Dona Maria, while also pursuing personal projects. Seeing the recognition the Tagus region has been earning, the idea of pursuing her dream emerged. In 2015 she converted her vineyards in the Charneca, where she invested in a range of national varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Trincadeira, Bastardo, Bical, Arinto, Fernão Pires, Alvarinho, Loureiro, Avesso, and also some international ones such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Alicante Bouschet. The first wine from this new venture, Casal das Aires, was released in 2019.
