Description

With a history that dates back to the early 18th century, the main house was built in 1720 and, surprisingly, survived the 1755 earthquake thanks to the granitic structure of the Serra de Sintra. Winemaking stopped in 1903, but a century later the most westerly vineyards in Europe were replanted and the cellar was modernised. The wines of Casal Sta. Maria are the result of nature’s expression and the unique terroir that surrounds the vineyards, which sit along the coastal edge of the Serra de Sintra.
