The bottles of the aged wines may show traces of dust and damaged labels, which is expected given their age. The National Cellar is required to store all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always chooses to preserve the visual appearance that reflects the wine’s age. We select brands/regions that, in general, reveal distinct characteristics in tastings of old wines. However, we inform you that wine is a living organism that ages, and even when sealed in a bottle, its aromas can evolve over time. For this reason, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the product’s quality, as it is an old wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine breathe first, which will help release its natural aromas after so many years of closure. If you choose to decant before serving, be patient and watch for the appearance of sediment, which an old wine tends to develop. (Illustrative image)
