Chateau Changyu Moser XV 2016 was a truly outstanding year in Ningxia – the 2016 crop was richer, more flavourful, and delivered greater tannic structure than the other notable vintage, with vines aged between 12 and 18 years. For this truly special and ultra‑rare wine – only 6 300 bottles were produced – we chose barrel‑by‑barrel blending components, selecting only grapes from the finest plots on our estate. 100 % Cabernet Sauvignon (small, healthy berries with brown seeds and 24–25 Brix). Aged in barrels (five different French vats, medium toast, all first‑use) in the Chateau’s barrel cellar for 24 months. Cultivation, fermentation and blending were overseen by Lenz M. Moser, Chief Winemaker of Chateau Changyu Moser XV, who spends the entire harvest period in Ningxia and visits the Chateau a total of five times – roughly three months per year.
