This Meursault Premier Cru is a truly exquisite find, a clear demonstration of the region’s exceptional character. The underlying limestone bedrock imparts a wonderfully vibrant minerality, alongside a remarkably balanced profile. Careful hand-sorting and a brief period of fermentation in oak – a touch of modern influence, of course – unlock a wealth of aromas, further enhanced by consistent lees stirring over 18 months. As the 95/100 from Decanter and 94/100 from Tim Atkin already suggested, this is a wine best enjoyed with something delicate, perhaps alongside some wild mushrooms or a perfectly grilled white fish.
