The bottles of vintage wines may show traces of dust and damaged labels, as expected for their age. The National Cellar is obliged to store all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always chooses to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. We select brands and regions that, by default, reveal distinct characteristics in tastings of old wines. However, we remind you that wine is a living organism exposed to time, and even within a bottle its aromas are subject to different evolutions. Therefore, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the product’s quality, as it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine breathe beforehand, as this helps release its natural aromas after so many years closed. If you choose to decant the wine before serving, do so patiently so you can detect the sediment that a typical old wine tends to develop. (illustrative image)
