Château Gilette Sauternes Créme de Tête 1953 is produced following the original methods introduced in the thirties by René Médeville, the grandfather of the current owner Julie Gonet‑Médeville. The vineyards are grown organically (tilling with organic enrichment). The grapes are affected by Botrytis cinerea (noble rot caused by the fungus "Botrytis cinerea") which is encouraged by the prevailing microclimate of Sauternes and Preignac. During harvest, between three and eight passes are required to pick the grapes that are perfectly “roasted” or in a state of “noble rot”.
