Château Gilette Sauternes Créme de Tête 1970 is produced following the original methods introduced in the 1930s by René Médeville, the grandfather of current owner Julie Gonet‑Médeville. The vineyards are cultivated ecologically (ploughing with organic enrichment). The grapes, affected by Botrytis cinerea (noble rot caused by the fungus “Botrytis cinerea”), benefit from the prevailing microclimate of Sauternes and Preignac. During the harvest, between three and eight passes are required to pick the berries that are perfectly “torrados” (toasted) or in a state of “podridão nobre” (noble rot).
