“Since 1461, this Graves estate has possessed a certain undeniable charm, and Château Haut-Bailly seems to have perfected the art of harnessing it. With a dominant 60% of Cabernet Sauvignon and a supporting 32% of Merlot, the result is a wine exhibiting the classic elegance expected of this terroir. Following Daniel Sanders’ purchase in 1955, the vineyard was revitalised, imbuing the wine with a powerful presence – think roses and ripe blackberries. The firm tannins and refreshing mineral finish suggest a wine perfectly suited to complementing a nicely grilled steak.”
