Depending on its age, the wines may show signs of time, such as dust residue on the bottles and/or some label damage—common in wines that have been stored for decades. Garrafeira Nacional is committed to storing all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, yet it always chooses to preserve the visual character associated with their age. We typically select the brands and regions that usually perform well in old‑wine tastings. However, wine is a living organism that, like all others, is exposed to time, and even within a bottle its aromas evolve in different ways. Therefore, Garrafeira Nacional cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, given that it is an old wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let it breathe beforehand; this helps release the wine’s natural aromas after so many years closed.
