The bottles of old wines may show traces of dust and damaged labels, which is to be expected given their age. The National Cellar is required to store all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always chooses to maintain the visual appearance that reflects their age. We select brands/regions that, on average, display distinct characteristics in tastings of vintage wines. However, we want to remind you that wine is a living organism that, even when sealed in a bottle, has aromas that evolve over time. Accordingly, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the quality of the product, as it is an old wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine breathe beforehand, which will help release its natural aromas after so many years of being sealed. If you choose to decant the wine before serving, make sure you do it patiently so you can detect the appearance of sediment that, as a rule, an old wine tends to develop. (Illustrative image)
