Château Latour-Martillac Pessac-Léognan Tinto

Description

The estate takes its inspiration from the tower that sits in the main courtyard of the castle, the remnant of a 12th‑century fort built by Montesquieu’s ancestors. The structure occupied a strategic position designed to control the route between Bordeaux and Toulouse. The stones of the fort were later used to construct the existing castle at the end of the 18th century. Today, thanks to generations of involvement from the Kressmann family and the recognition achieved in 1953 by the Graves classification, the wines of Château LaTour‑Martillac rank among the best in Pessac‑Léognan. The expansion of the range was developed by Tristan and Loïc Kressmann. The second wines appeared in the late 1980s under the label Lagrave‑Martillac, followed by Château Langlet, a magnificent property in the Graves appellation, acquired in 1999.
