According to its age, the wines may show marks left by time, such as dust residues in the bottles and/or damage to the labels—common in wines that have been stored for decades. The National Wine Cellar ensures that all wines are stored at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always chooses to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. We usually select the marques/regions that typically perform well in old wine competitions. However, wine is a living organism that, like others, is exposed to time, and even within a bottle the aromas evolve differently. Therefore, the National Wine Cellar cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, as it is an old wine. Our recommendation is to open and let the bottle aerate beforehand, as this will help release the wine’s natural aromas after so many years closed.
