Description

The Château Romassan was acquired by the Ott family in 1956, and after 30 years of hard work and experience they managed to place their wines among the best in the Bandol designation. The estate is situated in the western part of the Var department, in Castellet, at the heart of Bandol. Mourvèdre is the region’s queen grape, perfectly adapted to the climatic conditions and dry, arid soil, and in this wine it is accompanied by Garnacha. The key to the grapes’ ripening lies in the soil acidity and the sea breeze from the Bandol Gulf, which compensates for the region’s lack of rainfall. This wine, spiced and opulent, is ideal for ageing.
