Depending on its age, the wines may show marks left by time, such as dust residues on the bottles and/or some damage to the labels, a common occurrence in wines that have been stored for decades. Garrafeira Nacional commits to storing all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, yet always preserves the visual appearance inherent to their age. We usually select the brands/regions that typically perform well in old wine tastings. However, wine is a living organism, exposed to time, and even inside a bottle, aromas undergo different evolutions. Consequently, Garrafeira Nacional cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, as it is an old wine. Our recommendation is to open and let the bottle air out first, which helps release the wine’s natural aromas after many years of closure. Avoid decanting, as it may be too aggressive for old wines.
