According to its age, the wines may show signs left by time, such as dust traces on the bottles and/or some damage to the labels, which is common in wines that have been stored for decades. Garrafeira Nacional commits to store all wines at the correct temperature and humidity but always chooses to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. We generally select brands/regions that typically fare well in old wine tastings. However, wine is a living organism that, like others, is exposed to time, and even inside a bottle the aromas are subject to different evolutions. Therefore, Garrafeira Nacional cannot be held responsible for the quality of the wine, given that it is an old wine. Our recommendation is to open and let the bottle air out beforehand, as this will help release the wine’s natural aromas after so many years closed.
