Grafite Red is an elegant reinterpretation of a classic Douro wine, blending expressive fruit with subtle notes of aging in French oak. The name Grafite honors the winemakers’ artistic signature and their natural approach to winemaking. The nose offers black plums, ripe cherries, wild flowers and spices. On the palate it is smooth and velvety, with fine tannins, well‑defined dark fruit, and balanced acidity that extends a harmonious, enveloping finish. In a sector dominated by century‑old players, Churchill’s—now only 36 years old—has distinguished itself by exclusively producing premium‑category wines with a uniquely distinctive identity. It was this identity that John Graham sought to bring to the world of Port wine when he founded the company in 1981. The acquisition of Quinta da Gricha in 1999 propelled Churchill’s into Douro wine production, establishing it as a notable success. (Illustrative image only)
