“Conciso” is a Dão that quietly reveals the wisdom of its ancient vines – a truly remarkable expression from Niepoort. Born from a Dão where tradition dances with boldness, this wine perfectly embodies Niepoort’s approach, prioritizing patience and the accumulated knowledge of generations. The 2023 vintage, marked by a dry winter and accelerated ripening, led to an early harvest, skillfully managed with extended maceration and stem inclusion, resulting in a wine of exceptional elegance and ageing potential. Maturation in oak barrels has further refined its character. As Niepoort himself famously stated, "Portugal needed four or five more Dirks” – and this wine certainly delivers. It’s a wine to be savoured with understated grace, perhaps alongside a selection of well-aged cheeses or a delicate roasted poultry dish.
