The Constantino brand dates back to 1877, founded by Constantino de Almeida with a focus on exporting Port wine. Thanks to Constantino’s vision and sound management, the company quickly gained success in the first half of the 20th century. Today it is run by the Portuguese company Sogrape Vinhos and is known for its genuine brandy, aged for six months in excellent barrels, offering a robust aroma with noble spice notes. Located on the right bank of the Douro between Régua and Pinhão, Quinta do Crasto covers about 130 hectares, 70 of which are planted with vines. The estate also includes Quinta do Querindelo, with 10 hectares of old vines, and Quinta da Cabreira in the Upper Douro, with 114 hectares of vineyards. With a privileged location in the Demarcated Douro Region, Quinta do Crasto has belonged to the family of Leonor and Jorge Roquette for over a century. As is common with the great Douro estates, the origin of Quinta do Crasto goes back to ancient times – the name “Crasto” comes from the Latin *castrum*, meaning Roman fort.
