This Convento de Marialva Selecionada is a truly contemplative wine – the colour alone hints at the pleasure to come. Notes of red fruit, largely from Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, dance on the nose, while a distinctive balsamic character, courtesy of the Rufete grape, adds a layer of undeniable sophistication. On the palate, the wine reveals a refined texture, beautifully balanced with complex fruity nuances, reflecting a meticulous winemaking process. It’s a remarkably satisfying finish, ideally paired with a hearty beef roast, I’d say.
