The name Pithos evokes the terracotta amphorae, the key element in crafting this iconic Sicilian red, part of a project launched in the early 1990s by Giambattista Cilia, Cirino Strano and Giusto Occhipinti. Made mainly from Nero d'Avola, the wine is aged in those buried amphorae so it can breathe naturally and keep a constant temperature that preserves the fruit’s purity. The result is a fluid, succulent, authentic sip that delivers a uniquely personality‑rich sensory experience.
