Situated on the right bank of the Douro River, between Régua and Pinhão, Quinta do Crasto is a property of about 130 hectares, of which 70 hectares are planted with vines. The estate’s portfolio also includes Quinta do Querindelo, with 10 hectares of Vinha Velha, and Quinta da Cabreira in the Upper Douro, with 114 hectares of vineyards. With a privileged location in the Demarcated Region of the Douro, Quinta do Crasto has been owned by the family of Leonor and Jorge Roquette for more than a century. As is common with the great Douro estates, Quinta do Crasto’s origins date back to long‑ago times – the name “Crasto” derives from the Latin *castrum*, meaning Roman fort. (illustrative image only)
