Located on the right bank of the Douro River, between Régua and Pinhão, Quinta do Crasto covers roughly 130 hectares, of which 70 are planted with vines. The estate also includes Quinta do Querindelo, with 10 hectares of Vinha Velha, and Quinta da Cabreira in the Upper Douro, boasting 114 hectares of vineyards. Nestled in the privileged Demarcated Region of the Douro, the property has belonged to Leonor and Jorge Roquette’s family for over a century. As with many great Douro quintas, its origins reach back to antiquity – the name “Crasto” comes from the Latin *castrum*, meaning Roman fort. (illustrative image only)
