On Pico Island, in 1995, Curral Atlântis was born, the result of a partnership between Jorge Bohm and Manuel Faria. With 3 hectares of vineyard, they launched an experimental field with 24 grape varieties, aiming to revive ancient varieties such as Verdelho and Arinto from the Azores. Supported by the University of Évora and enologist Paulo Laureano, new wines were crafted and markets were won. Today, belonging to the Faria family, Curral Atlântis spans 42 hectares of vineyards, producing a varied range of wines that embody Azorean quality, marked by Atlantic influence and volcanic terroir.
