This Dão Álvaro Castro Reserva, born from a 2014 harvest gripped by almost obsessive drought, seems to have truly bottled the soul of the Dão terroir. The stainless steel fermentation preserves the purity of the Aragonez and Touriga Nacional grapes, while the extended ageing in Allier oak *bourgeaux* barrels (carefully chosen between 4 and 6 years old) grants it an elegance and complexity that’s surprisingly delightful. A truly lovely match with slow-roasted beef – the wine's richness finding its ideal companion.
