Unlike its neighbour Ribera del Duero, the Toro region retains a significant body of old vines that confer prestige. The Tinta de Toro grape used in the production of Dehesa Gago comes entirely from traditional viticulture practised by eight families of growers with whom Telmo Rodríguez has agreements since 1998. The planted blocks of Teso Hierro, Los Costares, Pago Quemaos and the villages of Argujillo, Villabuena and Morales unite in this red.
