This Dominus, from the 2018 vintage, certainly seems to have been aiming for immortality – or at least a very high score. The harvest, delayed by a touch of rain and morning fog, revealed grapes brimming with potential, demanding a patient hand. Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, nurtured by the unique Napa Valley climate, produced a wine of remarkable complexity and definition, as lauded by critics like James Suckling and Robert Parker (99/100!). Definitely a wine best enjoyed alongside a robust red – a true test of one’s palate.
