This Sousão, dubbed “Coleção Sousão Grande Reserva,” is a delightful surprise, to be honest. The deep ruby colour hints at the intensity that unfolds on the nose – a complexity worthy of note, with ripe fruit flavours reminiscent of grape sweetness and a subtle balsamic touch that genuinely piqued my interest. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, with a velvety texture, and the tannins, despite their distinctive character, feel more like a warm embrace. It seems perfectly designed to accompany a hearty beef roast, finishing with a long, elegant trail – almost a promise of what's to come.
