One of the most prestigious estates in the Douro is Quinta do Vallado, an estate that once belonged to D. Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, the Ferreirinha, and which still today remains in the hands of her descendants. The Vallado wines had been unjustly forgotten, but have now naturally reclaimed their lost time. They are wines of great significance in the history of the Douro and deserve a place among the very best. Built in 1716, Quinta do Vallado stands out as one of the oldest estates in the region. It is situated near Régua, on the banks of the Corgo River. The destiny of this iconic estate rests with João Alves Ribeiro and Francisco Ferreira, both descendants of the Ferreirinha, who are respectively responsible for the management of the company and for its oenology.
