Located in one of the most important sub‑regions of the Demarcated Vinho Verde Region—the Monção and Melgaço sub‑region—Dona Paterna winery sits at Quinta da Carvalheira in the heart of the parish of Paderne. The area is strongly characterised by its wine culture and has a particular focus on developing the Alvarinho grape. The wines of Dona Paterna were born out of the passion of Carlos Alberto Codesso, who began the first Alvarinho plantings there in 1974. With years of experience and a deep knowledge of the terroir, the winery now produces wines that showcase the different profiles of this prestigious variety, continually elevating the quality of its offerings.
