Located in one of the most important sub‑regions of the Demarcated Vinho Verde area—Monção e Melgaço—the Dona Paterna winery sits on the Quinta da Carvalheira, in the heart of the parish of Paderne. This region is strongly defined by its vine culture and is particularly suited to cultivating the Alvarinho grape. The wines of Dona Paterna sprang from the passion of Carlos Alberto Codesso, who in 1974 planted the first Alvarinho vines. Over the years, his experience and deep knowledge of the terroir have yielded wines that showcase the various profiles of this prestigious variety, continually raising the quality of what he produces.
