This Krötenpfuhl is a wonderfully quirky wine, born from a warm, loess-rich soil studded with quartzite pebbles – no wonder it bursts with early energy and exuberant fruit. That bracing, almost confrontational acidity speaks volumes about the intense nourishment and the slow, deliberate ripening of the grapes on the vine. It’s a fantastic match with roasted duck, I’d say!
