This Dows Quinta do Bomfim Vintage is undeniably a statement of intent. Initially, you’re greeted with those classic violet aromas, intertwined with ripe black fruit – blackberry, blackcurrant, even plum – all subtly shaped by the Touriga Nacional. It’s a remarkably vibrant wine, showcasing a complexity the winemaker clearly nurtured with patience. The Sousão adds a lovely spiced note, but the fresh acidity and mineral character ensure a beautiful balance. On the palate, the firm, mature tannins practically beg for a pairing with beef, especially lamb, or aged cheeses.
