Dr. Loosen is a wine producer in the outskirts of Bernkastel in the Mosel region of Germany. Led by the charismatic vintner Ernst “Ernie” Loosen, the company is one of Germany’s most famous Riesling producers and has earned numerous awards for many of its wines, such as the Dr. L. Riesling. Ernie Loosen, who has been at the helm since 1988, was Decanter magazine’s Man of the Year in 2005 and is regarded as one of the world’s most influential wine producers. (illustrative image)
