“This 2018 Eisele Vineyard is, quite simply, a tale of fortunate timing and meticulous care. Following a remarkably shy winter with disappointingly low rainfall, a welcome late-spring shower intervened, allowing the Cabernet Sauvignon vines to develop with remarkable poise – as if deliberately considering each step. The harvest, the latest for seven years, took place between the 21st and 15th of October, precisely when it was ideal, thanks to a mild summer and slow fruit maturation, free from the pressures of excessively hot weather. The result? Wines – lauded with 99/100 by James Suckling and Robert Parker – that exude elegance and amplitude, which, as anticipated, unfold beautifully with age. A truly exceptional pairing would be with a hearty steak; it deserves to be savoured.”
