Encosta Do Guadiana Rosé

Description

Paço do Conde Estate dates back to the 14th century, first mentioned in 1378 during the early days of the Portuguese kingdom. The estate spans 4,000 hectares, much of which lies between the remains of an ancient Roman castle along the Guadiana River and the old Roman town of the “Vilares.” It has been owned by the Castelo Branco family for more than three centuries, and the current management is led by José António Ferrão Castelo Branco, Luís Miguel Ferrão Castelo Branco, and Maria Luísa Castelo Branco Schmidt, grandsons of the founder. The 4,000 hectares are used for a variety of purposes—including grape production for wine, olive groves, cereals, seeded and natural pastures for cattle and black mountain pigs—among other agricultural activities. Continued agricultural exploitation, along with the development of the winery and cellar, are essential components of this project. (Illustrative image only)
