Founded in 1920 by Deonilde Freitas and later continued by Germana Freitas and then Ermelinda Freitas, the house has always devoted special attention to wine. From its first generation, it has relied on the quality of its vineyards and wines, which were initially produced and sold in bulk without a private label. It was under the current management that a major shift took place: the creation of private labels. In 1997 a new cycle began with the first wine produced and bottled by Casa Ermelinda Freitas.
