This Esporão Duas Castas is a rather bold experiment from the house, attempting to marry the zesty vibrancy of Alvarinho with the rustic charm of Viosinho and a touch of Roupeiro’s aromatic influence. Meticulously decanted and fermented at a cool 14°C, it’s aiming for an elegant and refreshing wine, with a hint of plum – a signature note evocative of the olive trees characteristic of the Alentejo. It’s a gamble that, if it pays off, blends regional tradition with a touch of daring, and – frankly – has already garnered some accolades. We’re left curious to see if the combination truly lives up to the hype; it’d pair beautifully with grilled fish or a Mediterranean-inspired salad.
