The Esporão Private Selection White was created in 2001 with the goal of challenging the classic profile of Alentejo’s great wines. Made from Semillon grapes, it ferments and matures in new French oak barrels to enhance its rich and complex character. Esporão was born in Alentejo out of an unwavering desire to make the best wines. This motivation is the legacy behind all of its vintages and the main reason it has expanded its range to other products and territories. The Esporão Estate, located in the heart of Alentejo in Reguengos de Monsaraz, offers unique agricultural conditions—wide temperature swings, poor and varied soils, and extraordinary biodiversity that helps production remain in balance with the environment. With roughly 702 hectares of vineyards, olive groves, and other crops cultivated under an Organic Production Method, the estate now encompasses about 40 grape varieties, four olive varieties, fruit orchards, and vegetable gardens.
