A wine of blue hue, created to satisfy the desire for a more flavorful, refreshing, and engaging beverage. Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal, founded in 1922 as João Pires & Filhos, has traveled a long path, establishing itself as one of the most innovative wine producers in Portugal. The company began producing wines from grapes of the Palmela region, and during the 1980s it expanded by acquiring properties across the country, setting new standards for quality wine production. Considered the most beautiful estate from the first half of the 15th century still existing in Portugal, Quinta da Bacalhôa is an ancient Royal property. Located in Azeitão, the Quinta and the famous Palácio da Bacalhôa form an artistic monument of great national importance. Today, Quinta da Bacalhôa belongs to Fundação Berardo, owned by the family of the same name and led by Comendador José Berardo. It was declared a National Monument on 23 June 1910. Around the Quinta visitors find picturesque villages, cellars, and one of Portugal’s most beautiful and imposing landscapes – the Arrábida Natural Park. (illustrative image only)
