Evidence The Red Wine Evidence Reserva Touriga Nacional is born in the Dão region, known for the softness, purity of fruit and elegance of its reds. Surrounded by several mountain ranges, including the Serra da Estrela, the highest in the country, the Dão has predominantly granite soils, with some slate areas. The temperate climate, of a Mediterranean‑continental type and shielded from maritime influence by the mountains, is marked by altitude (75% of the area lies between 400 and 700 metres), which provides an excellent acidic freshness in its wines. The Evidence Reserva red is a monovarietal wine, made with the most emblematic Portuguese red variety, the Touriga Nacional grape. This variety originated in the Dão region, with historical data dating back to 1790. The municipality of Tondela hosts the village of Tourigo, after which the grape has always been known, and one of its synonyms is Preto Mortágua, which refers to the namesake village and municipality. Scientific evidence shows that the genetic variability of Touriga Nacional vines in the Dão is much greater than in any other region, highlighting the long history of the grape in the area. It is a clear evidence, an undeniable proof of the origin of Touriga Nacional, a fundamental variety in all our reds in the Evidence range and which, in the reserve, reaches its maximum expression. Vinification and Maturation: Fermented in stainless steel tanks, with aging on French oak. Awards Gold – Berlin Wine Trophy 2022 Gold – Japan Women’s Wine Award 2021
