This Ferro da Ferradosa feels like it sprung straight from a particularly lovely dream – or perhaps just a vineyard planted back in 1998, stubbornly clinging to the Douro’s elegance with a remarkably youthful spirit. Built around 40% Touriga Franca, 50% Touriga Nacional and a touch of Tinta Roriz, it’s a velvet-smooth, vibrant red with that characteristic lagar freshness. Having spent 12 months in used French oak barrels, the red’s fruit intensity is beautifully refined – ideal for pairing with a nice grilled fish or some white poultry.
