This Fonseca Siroco is a truly elegant dry white Porto, born from the 1950s and named after the Sirocco wind blowing from North Africa towards the Mediterranean. It boasts a pale straw hue and a beautiful balance of ripe fruit, delicate acidity, and the refined notes imparted by ageing in small wood. Crafted from traditional Douro white grapes – Malvasia Fina, Gouveio, Viosinho, Rabigato and Arinto – grown on the cool, elevated vineyards, it’s a remarkably unique wine. Extended fermentation and ageing in smaller vats contribute to its dry, crisp finish, alongside nutty flavour complexities. A fantastic choice for a sophisticated aperitivo or a delightful accompaniment to a warm summer evening meal.
