This Freixo Reserva, hailing from the Alentejo, seems to have taken a rather adventurous path with its blend. Combining Sauvignon, Arinto, Alvarinho and Chardonnay – boosted with a touch of Riesling – it’s a wine that certainly isn’t afraid to stray from the beaten track. The vibrant acidity from the Sauvignon and Alvarinho balances the fresh fruit and complexity of the Chardonnay, while the Riesling adds a refreshing citrus note, ideally suited to a vibrant paella or seafood.
