Grown on ancient vines nestled at the foot of the Serra da Estrela, utilising both ten in Seia and five in Gouveia, the cool soils clearly contribute to the complexity. Winemaking focuses on gentle extraction and low temperatures, ensuring the grapes retain their inherent character. After maturing for 24 months in used French oak barrels, this wine – undeniably rich – deserves a hearty beef dish to really balance its intensity.”
