Description

Gianni Gagliardo Barolo Gianni Gagliardo is the result of blending eight plots located in five municipalities. In principle, each vineyard is vinified separately, then blended with the others at the end of the vinification. Only occasionally, when the perfect ripening of several plots coincides, can one opt for a grape assembly. It is, therefore, a traditional approach—an orchestra where each vineyard expresses part of its character to create an elegant and complex work, yet remains remarkably approachable. Historically, grapes from La Morra have always dominated this blend, but never alone. The various municipalities complement each other, revealing the specific identities of this great territory. The Barolo Gianni Gagliardo matured for 24 months in oak and an additional 14 months in bottle, contributing to its excellent aging potential and complexity. With grapes from our vineyards in La Morra, as well as from Monforte d’Alba, Barolo, and Serralunga, this wine displays a particularly expressive and sophisticated character even when young, while holding great potential for further ageing.
