From the Baga grape, grown on century-old vines planted in poor, stony soils, Giz is a wine full of elegance and complexity, aged for 20 months in French oak barrels. Its delicate, well‑defined aroma presents vivid ripe red fruits, accompanied by floral notes, cedar, vanilla, coffee, licorice, and forest floor. On the palate it is elegant, with abundant minerality and freshness that reflect its calcareous terroir. It is a deep, structured, and complex wine with a long, persistent finish. Originating in the Bairrada, between the foot of the Buçaco Mountains and the sea, Giz uniquely expresses the characteristics of the calcareous soils it comes from. Produced from indigenous varieties on poor, stony soils, the intervention in the production process is minimal, both in the vineyard and the cellar. After artisanal vinification, the wine rests for 8 months in French oak barrels to achieve a mask‑free nectar: authentic, structured, elegant and complex, full of individuality and character.
