This Grahams Vintage from Quinta dos Malvedos is a bold statement, to put it mildly. The nose immediately evokes a confectioner’s dream – chocolate, mint, and a hint of spice foreshadowing the remarkable depth to come. On the palate, the complexity intensifies with cassis notes suggesting a vanilla wood ageing, layered with blackcurrant and blackberry that’s simply bursting with flavour. A wine of considerable colour and body, perfectly suited to a robust red meat – Jamie Goode certainly agreed, awarding it a well-deserved 94 points.
