Description

This Hasso is a Douro white that genuinely feels like it sprung from an orchard of green apples – that greenish hue perfectly captures the region’s sunlight. Robert Parker’s assessment – fresh, crisp, with a pronounced minerality – rings true. Clearly, this vineyard doesn’t hold back, employing hand-harvesting and gentle pressing. The additional nine months of batonnage (lees stirring) certainly adds a layer of complexity, almost a tender hug to the lees. The result is a remarkably balanced wine with a lingering finish, hinting at the Douro’s hidden charms. It pairs beautifully with fresh fish or seafood.
